Chapter 49 Dark Moon Pack

 |Every|

The way back to the Dark Moon Pack was silent. And before I knew it, Grey was fast asleep on my shoulder with his guard down to zero. His head was heavy on my shoulder, but I stayed still as much as possible so he won't wake up.

We went past many forests, many fields with grass, and some with blooming flowers.

I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at every sight I saw. I've only seen flower fields in pictures. So I couldn't believe the sight in front of me. They looked so colourful. I thought maybe someone painted my eyes with colours. I wished I could go there someday and run among the thousands of flowers.

I looked at the sleeping person next to me. He was deep in his dreams without a bother about the outer world. I once again looked out of the windows with my eyes scanning every place we passed. Everything felt like a dream I was seeing, and I would return to my pack any time now. But no. It was really happening. Deep down, I knew I'd already left my pack. I've left the hell hole of my life.

Even if Grey was going to dislike me in the future, find his mate, or throw me out of his pack, I knew I won't go to the Blue Crystal Pack ever again. I wasn't ready for any more physical abuse, especially when it hurt so much, even when I breathed. I was prepared even to be a rogue than go to that pack ever again.

It reminded me that I didn't break the bond with my pack. Though I never felt the pack bond, I knew it was there. So I closed my eyes and thought;

'I, Everleigh... am no longer a pack member of Blue Crystal Pack. I will leave my pack for the better.' I thought. 'This feels great.'

There was a sudden relaxation in my heart. I felt at ease. I never knew what a pack bond was like, but Sparkle knew how it felt.

'We lost all the bonds.' she said nonchalantly.

'We are going to a new pack.'

'Yeah!' she cheered inside and didn't stop stirring with happiness. She acted like when she wanted control over my body. But at that time, I didn't let her do so because Grey was fast asleep next to me.

The vehicle went over a sudden bump, and Grey woke up on alert. He looked around with wide eyes as if thinking we were in danger, and I couldn't help but snort at his attentiveness. It was adorable. He gave me a playful stinky eye, so I immediately stopped smiling.

"We've arrived." then he muttered.

Blood drained from my face, my heart started running miles inside, and my palms began sweating just when he told me that. Everyone's eyes would be on me, the new pack member, and I might as well get bullied for being a weak, mute, pathetic omega just like before. Everyone would start judging me...

"Hey, you are going to be fine. No one will think of you that way, plus you aren't weak and pathetic. No one will judge you." Grey said as he got down from the vehicle, leaving me alone.

'You communicated with Blue, didn't you?' I scoffed at Sparkle, obviously knowing that was the only way Grey knew what I thought.

'La la la, I can't hear you~' she sang.

'You!' I snapped.

The door next to me opened, and Grey stood out waiting for me to come out. He slowly extended his hand, and I got down, letting my fingers grab hold of his rough hand. He pulled me out and closed the door. Then the next thing I knew, he was walking ahead of me, leaving me there like a homeless.

I was confused about why he had left me. Then I remembered how he told me that we couldn't come out as a couple because of specific reasons. But I felt lost without a good explanation.

I knew I wasn't in the right place to question his actions. He was the leader of the largest werewolf pack, and I knew I should follow whatever he said because he was the alpha!! I was just an omega!

So I followed him from behind, limping at one time but trying my best to keep on walking without any flaw. We entered through some large gates which were so tall that the tip was higher than a tree. I had my lips parted as I watched around in amazement.

The pack area was probably ten times larger than the Blue Crystal Pack area. The whole area was secured with high walls but open to the woods, and it went on and on that my eyes couldn't catch the entire image.

In the Blue Crystal Pack, it was different. Anyone who entered through the gates could see the other end of the pack, and with the low number of members, the area was enough.

But here, there was the main building in front of us that went on and on. There was a large main staircase leading to the building. It basically looked like a palace entrance that I've seen in movies and images in books. Suddenly I felt so tiny staring at it. I realised the world I've seen as a child till now was so small, and the world outside was bigger.

Apart from the main building, there were plenty of little houses. In summary, it was like a combination of a few packs. Like a little village.

Many people weren't around as we walked towards the entrance. There were only two guards who bowed to pay respect to Grey and also the two who came with us on the ride.

Grey walked ahead of me and stopped right in front of the massive gates of the main building. I looked behind me and found the vehicle we came parked far away from us. It made me wonder how big the building might be inside.

"Hey, listen." alpha Grey took my attention. I got startled and turned to him in a blink of an eye. "We are going to meet my parents first. They know about you, but no one else does. You will be welcomed to the pack as a new member in the evening pack meeting that I am going to hold." he said.

I quickly nodded.

"Also, you will get a room somewhere which I probably won't know where. So I will let Kavin tell you a location to meet me during the night." he took a deep breath, and his eyes locked with mine. "Let's repeat what we did, meet in the night till everything becomes okay," he said.

I narrowed my eyes at him. He didn't tell me something was going on, so I raised my eyebrows at him, asking for a proper explanation.

"It's... not about me. Maybe a bit about me, but it's about you," he said.

"Well-" he couldn't complete his words when the large doors opened. I silently groaned at the way our conversation got cut short, especially when he couldn't tell me the reason and how it was about me.

Leaving me curious as a cat, our eyes moved to the person who came through the doors. It was a middle-aged lady who was wearing a long white dress with her hair braided. She looked like a greek goddess taken from an old history book. It wasn't all because of her beauty but also the clothes she wore.

"You are back, sweetie!" she chirped at Grey, who groaned probably at the sweet nickname.

"How often I told you not to call me that," he said with a red face.

I quickly stifled the smile that tried to leave my lips because I had to be polite. The lady tip-toed and kissed Grey on his cheeks. It didn't take me long to realise he was the mother of the person I dearly loved.

Then her eyes moved in my direction. I quickly stood straight and looked down at my feet because I had no idea how to act in front of her. Should I greet her? Smile at her? Wave? I didn't know.

"And who you might be?" she asked me.

I quickly raised my head and looked at her sparkling eyes. I opened my mouth and looked at Grey for help.

"She's the new pack member. I told you," Grey said, tilting his head as if pressing the detail.

"Oh! Nice to meet you." she quickly said as she extended her hand to me. I took her hand and shook it awkwardly, but I didn't forget to give my best smile since it was the only way I had to tell her that I liked her presence.

"I am Amanda. What's your name, dear?" she asked me.

"Everleigh." alpha Grey replied at my place instead.

"I didn't ask you." Amanda playfully hissed at Grey and looked at me for an answer. I quickly looked at Grey and gave him a questioning look.

"S-she cannot talk." he quickly said to her.

Amanda's smile suddenly dropped, but it quickly came back.

"I am sorry, Grey didn't tell me before," she said, blaming Grey. I nodded in answer. Then she moved her eyes to Grey, and they stared at each other for a few seconds.

And I knew they were probably sharing something between them with their stares. Also, I could say Grey's mother wasn't happy about me.

I mean, who would love to have a mute as their in-law???
