Chapter 51 Large Room

|Every|

As the unfamiliar pack member asked me to wait for a minute till she went looking for her friend, I leaned on the nearby wall because I was exhausted. And to my surprise, I could hear alpha Grey and his mother, Amanda, talking inside where I was before.

Their voices rose as they spoke with each other; they were arguing. I stood there for a few minutes.

And by the time the unfamiliar pack member came back to fetch me, I was in tears.

I couldn't believe a single word I heard. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I listened to what they talked about. What hurt me wasn't anything that was regarding Grey... but it hurt me and made me feel angry about why he brought me to his pack when he very well knew his mother didn't like me even a bit.

It was again another time I wished for my voice. Really? Why didn't I have my voice?? Why couldn't I defend myself?? It was all my fault, to begin with.

"Hey, I am so sorry I left you here. Did you get scared?" the pack member quickly walked over to me and asked. She looked startled by my tearing. I looked at her concerned eyes and shook my head. I quickly wiped away the tears that made a mess of my face.

"Aww, it's fine. I only went to meet up with my friend. She had the key to your room that we prepared for you. Come on, let's go. I'll show you around the packhouse." she said.

I nodded and started following her from behind. She walked a bit ahead of me and stopped in her tracks, waiting for me to stand next to her. Then we started walking together.

"So, let me introduce myself. I am Ophelia, and I take care of most of the omegas here. Some are taken care of by prior Luna, Amanda, and you met her just now. I am not sure if you will be under my care of hers, but that won't make any change. The only thing that will change is that you will get different practices. Have you attended omega school before?" she asked.

I was taken aback. What was omega school?

I shook my head.

"Oh, that will be fine. The little building next to the packhouse is the omega school. Every omega over the age of 6 attends there for basic knowledge. Later they get educated about heat, identifying other's scents, how to be a good omega, to defend themselves a bit and so on. So they are all prepared for the future." she said.

I didn't know why, but I felt touched by her words. It wasn't how she explained it, but it was about how alpha Grey led the pack. I didn't know whether his father started it that way, but even the fact he continued it seemed to touch my heart more than I thought.

He was no doubt a significant alpha.

I was only a stranger to the pack who only came only half an hour ago, but it didn't take me long to realise...

'This is how a pack should be...' I thought.

'This is our pack now.' Sparkle accepted my words.

I looked around the place, and the place was huge. It was like a giant labyrinth with twists, turns, corridors, and stairs, but everything seemed perfect. I didn't know how but I had my lips parted as I looked around in amazement. Every place looked spotless as well as much luxury and modern.

"Oooh~ What do we have here~?" I heard a little mocking voice. An unfamiliar guy appeared.

I silently gasped, knowing well how those voices usually belonged to bullies—especially betas and alphas who used to bully me in the Blue Crystal Pack.

"Cut it out, Kyle." Ophelia hissed.

I thought bullying didn't happen in Dark Moon Pack.

"I was looking all over for you, silly." Kyle person said and pulled Ophelia for a hug.

"You are such a clingy mate. Get lost." she teasingly scolded.

I got a slight smile on my lips when I realised; they were mates. And it wasn't bullying, and they were just being playful with each other.

"And who you might be, young lady? You stole my mate from me." the guy teasingly accused me.

I looked between them in confusion.

"Stop it, Kyle. This is alpha Grey's friend, new to the pack. I am taking her to her ready room." Ophelia said.

I gave Kyle a small smile. Kyle made a funny face.

"Are you sure you are just a friend?" he eyed me up and down. He extended his hand to me for a handshake, and I slowly shook it.

He suddenly pulled me when I was shaking his hand. I was caught off guard and slammed my face on his chest.

"So, did you two kiss?" he whispered and smirked.

I pushed him away with wide eyes.

"Hi, I am Kyle. I am Grey's best friend. So I know the news." he winked.

I badly wanted to scoff at the guy's boldness.

So he was Grey's so-called best friend he once told me about. I could remember him telling about all the adventures they used to have before he became the pack's alpha. But afterwards, he missed those times, especially when he won't even see his best friend some days because of the extensive work.

"What news?" Ophelia asked.

"Shush, babe. It's a secret. I'll let you know later." he promised.

"Fine. Let's just keep on walking." she groaned. She walked ahead of us as Kyle walked close, next to me. I could feel he had something in his mind to tell me. And he did.

"You see. You will have to go through a lot of training in order to become the Luna. I already like you, but your wounds are terrible, which is not a good first impression to prior Luna." he said.

I just stared at him.

"I've to say, this pack especially. Alpha has to lead a huge number of people, so Luna's help is a must. That's also why Grey is not given full power of the pack. And now, you, m'lady is here to help him." he said.

I couldn't help but laugh at his words.

"Okay, now you two became besties before me???" Ophelia scoffed. Then she pointed at the door in front of her. "This will be your room... Everleigh? I heard that's your name. Go and check in." she said.

She opened the door for me, took the keys back and tossed it to me. Then she ushered me inside. I walked inside as the couple started bickering about how they were both planning to skip training for the day.

Meanwhile, I around the room in amazement. It was actually half the size of the basement room I lived in with eight more omegas. And it looked too big for me because I've never got such a personal space.

I walked around in delight and looked at the luxury bed, closets and carpets. I let my fingers ghost over the soft, spring mattress as I remembered how it was in my pack before.

I slowly sat on the bed as my memories went through my mind on how I even slept on the floor sometimes and how I had to sleep on wet dust when I was locked in the room. I slowly stood up from the mattress.

I suddenly felt like I didn't deserve the sudden luxury while others were still stuck in Blue Crystal Packhouse.

Fah, Rose, Nanny, Jane... they all were still there, just like before. Their lives would go without any change, without even a ray of hope, sunshine and happiness.

Especially Fah and Rose... I could remember when they blabbered about staying in their own room with a big bed. And now, when I had them all, I felt a pang of sudden guilt in my heart.

Why didn't I even say goodbye?

Why was I so selfish!?

Oh god, I regretted it.
