Chapter 29 Blooming Love

|Every|
Before I knew it, it was happening again.
I felt the fluttering feeling on my lips. And it... it was indescribable how amazing it felt. Firstly, the kiss was different from the first one. The first one was hesitant, confused as well as feared. But this kiss... it felt determined, and I was sure there were some feelings in the kiss.
I didn't know what to do. I just stayed frozen without moving even an inch of my body.
I felt Grey's lips slowly move, and he kissed my lips again and again without detaching. I've never felt so special like that in my life. The kiss was so careful, delicate, and slow. Suddenly I felt like a flower... I felt like glass that was about to break.
My instincts made me raise one of my hands and keep them against his cheek. It gave him the green light to slowly hold the back of my nape.
I didn't know if alpha Grey was kissing a person for the first time. All I knew was that I had my first kisses, which were so amazing.
He gently moved his lips, and slowly I parted my lips and pressed a small kiss back. And that action itself made him move back. He locked his eyes with mine and looked at me in surprise. And there, I felt a tiny spark between us.
It was this new thing called 'desire'. I felt the sudden urge to get closer, have a long kiss, and maybe take a step ahead. Though I was inexperienced, I felt the need to have more and more. And alpha Grey mirrored the same thing I wanted through his eyes.
We both leaned in together; we had our lips crushed together like a mould in no time. I let him take control of the kiss. I felt his other hand run behind my nape, pulling me closer. And I tried my best to stay against his pull, and I hesitated to move closer to him.
My hand on his cheek dropped to his shoulder, and I squeezed there. His skin felt hard under my fingers, and I loved how it felt.
I had no idea how long we kissed. But when we pulled back, I was out of breath. And I felt this feeling of contentment in my heart. My heart, my body, and all my needs felt full after the kiss. My heart didn't stop rapidly beating inside. It was beating crazily as if telling me how crazy the kiss was.
Yes, I was expecting another kiss. But I never expected such a long one. It was only lips touching lips and showing affection.
Our kiss was successful because I felt so happy and light. All the tiredness in my body and mind left. And it made me fear if I would look forward to kissing him every day.
"That was amazing." Grey breathed in. His face was so close to mine I could see every detail of him. And it was the first time I saw the several scars he had on his face, and those looked so great blending into his skin tone. It made him look more attractive. I also saw the dark greyness of his eyes much closer. I couldn't believe how those orbs changed their colours from a lighter grey to a darker one within seconds.
"I got my name from my eye colour," he said when he caught me looking at both of his eyes, one after another. "It was my father who put that name," he said with a smile.
I returned the smile and slowly withdrew my hand that was on his shoulder.

"What about you? How did you get your name?" he asked.
And then, I was thinking. How did I get my name?
I furrowed my eyebrows and thought.
The first memory I had in my mind was walking on a never-ending road with my caregiver. She was walking fast, and I had to run to keep up with her. She held my hand tightly, afraid I might wander off. She had that mad look on her face as we made our way to the Blue Crystal pack, where my nightmare was about to start.
I didn't have a name. She called me 'girl' all along as we walked. It was the most tiring walk I had with my small legs thudding fast on the concrete road. The blazing sun was giving me sunburns, but there was no one to care about it. We were in a hurry too.
Once we arrived at the Blue Crystal Pack, I met with the alpha. That was when my caregiver chirped in and said my name. I was puzzled. I didn't know I had a name, and when I heard my name for the first time as 'Everleigh.' I didn't feel like it was me. That name didn't suit me at all. I was just a skinny girl holding her hand, and having a name sounded so grand to me.
I looked at the notebook Grey handed to me. And slowly scribbled on it.
'I think my caregiver gave me the name. I am not sure.'
He read it with careful eyes. I continued writing.
'She was the one who gave me to this pack because she couldn't take care of me. It's the first memory I have of myself... I guess.' I wrote, completely forgetting how I told him before that I was born in the pack.
"First memory..." he mumbled. "I think mine is eating ice cream while watching fireworks with my older brother. He's been in a coma for years now." he faintly smiled.
'What is a coma?'
"It's like... he's sleeping, his body is working, but he doesn't have conscious." he slowly said.
'Oh... When do you think he will wake up?'
"When he wants to... Actually, he was supposed to be the next alpha. But because of that accident, I had to take his place. I don't think he wants to wake up and see me as the alpha. Since he was small, he trained to have the power and strength to be one... His whole living time was about training. I hate myself for taking his place and for letting his-"
I placed my index finger on his lips. Then I withdrew to write on the paper.
'It's not like that. You are doing great. He will be happy to see you having everything under control while he is asleep. You can only decide what will happen after he wakes up. Whether to continue being the alpha or to hand him over the title. He's your brother, and he will love you no matter what.'
"Mmm... you are right-"
"Hey, lovebirds. Time's up." Fah's voice burst our bubble of conversation. We both groaned and turned to her.
Fah raised her hands in defence.
"Don't give me that look, you two. Tsk, I regret helping you. Also, we'll have to move now, and the patrolling team is only a few blocks that way," she said, pointing to her left.
"Oh, then we better move," Grey said as he got down from the rock.
I handed him the notebook and pen I was holding so I could get down without a problem. But instead, his hands wrapped around my waist and carefully got me down.
Oh god.
"Did I tell you that you are a living tomato?" he asked.
