Chapter 166 Secret Love, Mistake for Someone Else
After she did the laundry and took a deep breath, Jane walked out of the restroom. She tried her best not to look at others as she thought she came here in delight but would leave in disgrace.
Vincent glanced at her and said loudly, "Miss Cooper."
Jane stopped, and Vincent smiled, "It's OK. Don't take it personally."
Jane nodded guiltily, "I'll let the waiter iron the clothes and bring them in."
Vincent said, "Happy birthday."
Jane smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Perez."
During their conversation, Edward did not turn around, sitting with his coat on. Vincent and Jane were unable to see his face. After Jane left, Vincent glanced at Edward, feigning displeasure, "Look at your attitude! How upset Jane will be!"
Edward had a cold look at him, "Better than you. You are a two-faced person."
Vincent raised his eyebrows, "I've said I didn't mean to trip her."
Edward gave him a mocking look back. He would never believe his words.
Jane went out and handed the clothes to the waiter and asked him to dry and iron them. Then she walked to the door of her private room and caught her breath.
When she pushed the door in, everyone looked at her, and Ellie asked, "Did you give the cake to them?"
"Yes."
"Do they like it?"
Jane forced a smile and said against her conscience, "Of course."
Ellie said, "I was just discussing that with Justin. He said his family liked cakes and my cake was delicious. I'll teach him how to make cakes someday."
Jane had not yet completely calmed down. She just laughed without teasing Justin's "Chemical techniques in cooking", which could turn magic into decay.
Jane sat down. The atmosphere at the table remained the same.
Ellie was the most talkative one. Henry and Justin were too weak to "beat" her. Jennifer tried her best to avoid being targeted by her, and Aron was the only one who could catch up with Ellie.
Midway through the party, a waiter knocked on the door, brought in a large bowl of noodles, and said happy birthday to Jane. People in S City did not have the tradition of eating noodles on their birthday, so Jane asked in confusion, "We didn't order it. Did the shop owner give it to us?"
The waiter replied with a smile, "Guests in 202 room ordered it for you."
Jane instantly blushed. She had just gone upstairs and smashed the cake all over Edward. All the people there didn't get anything but shock, but they gave her a bowl of noodles. It was like returning good for evil.
"Would you please thank the man upstairs for me?"
"OK. Enjoy your meal then."
After the waiter left, Jennifer gossiped, "Who ordered it for you?" Even if only Edward and Vincent would do so, she wanted to know which one of the two men was so thoughtful.
Jane said casually, "Someone ordered it."
She could guess who did so. She had cooked noodles for Edward when he was sick before, and she had also cooked noodles for Justin on his birthday. In terms of Edward's personality, he would return her favor.
Ellie said, "Seeing so many people look after my baby Jane, I feel relieved."
Jane said, "What are you worried about. I am worried about you, OK?"
Ellie raised her beautiful eyes slightly, "What are you worrying about?"
Jane could not say it explicitly as there were teens around.
That was Ellie's love affair that gave her a headache.
Aaron interrupted, "Auntie, when will you get married?"
Ellie said, "It's still a wait-and-see situation. After all, I'm still young."
Jane whispered, "You've already thirty-seven years old."
With a fearless frankness, Ellie asked everyone in the room, "Do I look like a thirty-seven-year-old person?"
Henry shook his head seriously, and even Justin couldn't refute her words. If Jane hadn't told him, he might have called her sister the first time he saw Ellie.
Jennifer propped her hands on her chin and said pitifully, "Auntie, do you not have a crush on my father? Let me arrange another meeting between you two?"
Ellie said, "Although you call me auntie, I regard your father as my uncle. That's not a good choice to let us get together, right?"
Aaron was choked and spit out the wine in his mouth. Henry and Justin were from wealthy and influential families, so they did not change their faces with good adaptability. Jane was used to her aunt, so she bowed her head eating noodles in an undisturbed manner.
Hearing her words, Jennifer immediately said: "I know. My father looks a bit old, but recently he looks good if dressed up... I really want you to be my mother? Do you consider that?"
Ellie pouted towards Jennifer, "I'm still young. I don't want to get married now. Your dad is a nice man. I'll cheer him on."
Jennifer sighed, "My father is nice, he is thrifty and loves to earn money, but he is not a good-looking man."
Aaron said, "I reckon that Aunt Ellie is afraid of having a stingy daughter."
Jennifer replied defiantly, "That depends on who I spend my money for. I will definitely be generous if it's for Auntie Ellie. "
Ellie said, "Yes. Jennifer gave me a bunch of flowers today."
Aaron said, "I bought those flowers."
Jennifer said, "Shut up."
In the meantime, Justin and Henry were both thinking about whether they could bear such a woman if Jane became one of their families. Henry could still call Ellie "aunt" if Jane married Vincent, but Justin had to call her "grandma" no matter whether Jane married Gary or Edward.
Ellie's phone rang, and she got up with it in her hand. Jane handed her coat to Ellie, "It's cold outside."
Ellie took it and said in her usual doting tone, "Thank you, baby Jane."
She went outside to answer the phone in Jane's coat. A male voice came from the phone, "Have you arrived in S City?"
Ellie replied in a gentle voice, "Uh-huh. I've arrived this afternoon."
"Have you met your niece?"
"Yes, we are having dinner with her friends and students at the restaurant."
The man said, "Please stay here for a few more days. I'll be back the day after tomorrow. What do you want as a present?"
Ellie curled her lips, "Nothing. You don't have to rush back. We are not going to meet in S City."
The man said, "I asked you to come to S City, but you never said yes. Now you came here. Do you want to leave without meeting me?"
Ellie whispered, "S City is your territory. It's not convenient as a lot of people are watching you."
The man said, "Just let them know our relationship. Am I afraid our relationship will be exposed?"
Ellie said, "You're not afraid, but I'm in fear."
"Haven't you told your niece about our relationship?"
"Not yet."
"I was forced to keep a low profile before, but now you choose to hide our relationship." The man's voice was magnetic. It could tell that he was not that young. There was a hint of jest and discontent in his tone.
Ellie coaxed him, "Give me more time. I'm not ready."
She was talking on the phone with her head down when suddenly a voice came from behind her, "Jane."
Ellie subconsciously turned around, and not far away stood a long, tall figure with a very short haircut, honey-colored skin and delicate and airy eyebrows, wearing a brown-colored shirt like rich chocolate candy.
When Edward saw the pink coat, he subconsciously called Jane's name, but soon he realized that that woman was not Jane. Although Ellie was similar in stature to Jane, she was significantly shorter than Jane.
The man was ......
Ellie hung up the phone. Edward stepped forward and nodded slightly, "Nice to meet you. I am Edward Smith."
