Chapter 62

Chapter 62
"Dad! Dad! What happened to you? Don't scare me!" Chu Yuxin got on her knees next to Yang Zhong, crying and holding his head in her arms.
Yang Zhong was still alive then. He talked to her with his final strength, "Yuxin, I am dying now. Take care of yourself."
"Dad, hang in there. You will be fine. I'm calling the ambulance now!" Chu Yuxin said with tears running down her face.
"It's too late. I am dying. There is something that I am still concerned about. Listen, don't tell Potian about this until you hear the victory from the West Land," Yang Zhong said.
"Why not? Why can't I tell him?" Chu Yuxin was confused. Seeing Yang Zhong's wounds in his body and the back of the head bleeding, she knew that he would soon be gone.
"You will know one day. Now, just remember my words. Don't tell him about me being beaten to death," said Yang Zhong weakly.
Yang Zhong knew that Xiao Potian, as the commander of the army in the West Land, was responsible for the land security and the life of millions of soldiers. It would get into his head if he found out about this.
The West Land was confronted with major enemies. Millions of soldiers would be dead if Xiao was impulsive and could not command rationally.
It was the father who knew the son. He knew Xiao Potian very well. If Xiao Potian found out that Yang Zhong died miserably at the hands of those gangsters, it was highly likely for him to come back and revenge.
So, he had to stop Chu Yuxin from telling this to Xiao Potian.
"Ok, I got it," Chu Yuxin agreed with tears in her eyes. Her hand holding Yang Zhong's head was all covered with blood.
"Yuxin, don't cry, and don't be sad. I'm a soldier so it's my honour to die in a battle. Even though this is not an actual battlefield, I died of saving people. I died for a good deed with no regrets," said Yang Zhong.
"Dad, it is my fault that I didn't take good care of you. Please hang in there and give me another chance to take care of you," Chu Yuxin said.

"You have been good enough for me these days. I am more than content. I am very happy to see my son marrying such a virtuous wife," said Yang Zhong.
The more considerate Yang Zhong was, the more guilty Chu Yuxin felt. She had been busy with her work all this time and overlooked him, which made him suffer from all sorts of obstacles created by Zhou Liping and got him kicked out of the mansion. Despite all these, he didn't mind at all and felt content.
Like father, like son. No wonder Xiao Potian was also so magnanimous.
"But there is a pity," Yang Zhong said with his breath coming in jagged gasps.
"What is it? Do let me know and I will fix it," Chu Yuxin hastened to ask.
"It is a pity that I can not witness the victory of our Dragon Kingdom's vigorous army against the enemies intruding the West Land," said Yang Zhong.
Chu Yuxin was stunned as she could not fix this indeed.
"On the day of the victory in the West Land, do come to my tomb to let me know!" Yang Zhong passed away with eyes wide open as soon as he finished his words.
He died with his kingdom in his mind!
He didn't die in peace as he couldn't witness the victory of the Dragon Kingdom against the enemies in the West Land.
It was not possible for him to die in peace also because he, been through so many wars to protect his kingdom, was killed by those gangsters today.
It started drizzling suddenly.
Yang Zhong's death was so devastating that even the god felt unfair for him and started to rain.
Knowing that Yang Zhong passed away, Chu Yuxin broke down totally.
"Dad!" Chu Yuxin cried grievously.
However, Yang Zhong could never answer her anymore.
Chu Yuxin was about to cry her heart out. This was too sudden and she felt like it was the end of the world.
She didn't expect that Yang Zhong would be killed by Feng Zhiyi and his gangsters when he was just trying to run away from home and help a girl for her justice.
Xiao Potian implored over and over again about taking good care of Yang Zhong. Yet she failed and disappointed him anyway.
Worst of all, the cause of all this was her mother's meanness and her kicking Yang Zhong out of the mansion.
She didn't know how to tell Xiao Potian about this.
