MARA'S POV
"Alex... no... you don't need to do that." I pleaded.
"Just trust me, okay?" I stared at him again.
I saw that he is serious about this. "I trust you."
"So game!" Yelle shouted with excitement.
I frowned. "What game?"
She rolled her eyes. "Game to overthrow Jana!"
I was a bit confused. "What are you saying, Yelle? Are you on drugs?"
She glared at me. "Even if you conduct a drug test on me now, I'm confident that the result will be negative. I don't want to be on President Duterte's bad side!"
I rolled my eyes. "Because I can't understand what you are saying!"
"Yelle, Mara doesn't know anything, so she really can't understand you," Alex said, a bit annoyed.
"Wait? What do you mean by I don't know anything? You knew something that I don't?"
The two shook their head.
"Alex, you tell it to Mara! Go!" Yelle pointed at Alex.
"TSK. Why don't you just say it? You were so excited earlier!"
"Hey, hey! Before you guys continue with your argument. Can you guys tell me now the things that you knew that I don't?!" I hissed.
Alex turned his gaze at me. He looked so serious.
I felt nervous.
"You asked me a while ago if I knew Jana." He said.
I nodded.
"I never met her. The first time I met her was when we went to your house to visit your daughter." He said in a serious tone.
I knew it! They do not know each other because Alex never mentioned her to me. So I was shocked by Maru's story then.
"You are saying..."
He nodded. "She's lying. And..."
"And?"
"She went to my office last week." He confessed.
My eye widens from his revelation.
"Why did she go to your office?" I seriously asked.
Alex stared at me.
"She made a deal with me." He said.
"And that is?"
"Steal you from Maru."
I did not immediately get what Alex had said. "What do you mean?"
"She wants me to work with her to ruin your marriage."
"She's insane!" I can't help but feel annoyed.
"I know, right!" Yelle butted in.
"That woman's face is too thick to use Alex in her plans. What does she think of Alex? That Alex has no loyalty?!" Yelle growled.
"Now everything makes sense," Yelle added.
"What do you mean?" I asked, a bit confused.
"Remember the time that Andrew and I became close? Then all of a sudden, we became distant? And I stop talking to him?" I nodded.
"That time, I confessed my feelings to him. But he dumped me!!!" She said in an exaggerated tone.
I laughed at her reaction.
"Go! Laugh at me!" She pouted her lips.
I just rolled my eyes. "Just continue your story."
"Hmph! As what I am saying, your husband rejected me because, as per him, he's already in love with someone else."
I raised my brow.
She grinned. "You will like what will I tell you. You don't need to raise your brow."
I smiled at her.
"TSK. He was referring to you!" Then she pointed her finger at me.
"He told me that he only loves one woman in his entire life. And he has no plan of looking at other girls. It will always be her future wife, which is you, Mara!"
"He told you that I am her future wife?" I asked, a bit shocked.
"Yes! I already know who will be your husband even if you don't tell me. Since it was you whom he likes, I decided to give him up. And I just prepared a bucket of tissues for Alex." Yelle and I laughed so hard while Alex glared at us.
"That's why I was a bit confused when after a month Maru and Jana became a couple."
I was a bit calm about this scenario because Maru had already explained to me what happens.
"That's why when I came across him, he asked me if it's true that you gave Alex a chance to win you. I just rolled my eyes at him and ignored him."
"And because he was so persistent and thick-faced, I shouted at him. I told this to him..."
"So what if Mara gave Alex a chance to win her?! At least Alex has a ball to confess to her! While you?! Aside from not having a ball, you are not even loyal!!! So don't you dare approach me! And for your information, I will do everything to help Alex to win Mara's heart! And I am very sure that it will be possible because they are close to each other!"
"From then on, I stop talking to him!"
We laughed at her story. Maru has no balls and loyalty! We can't help but laugh hard at that statement. When we all calmed down, Yelle continued.
"I think that news came from Jana. And I'm very sure that Jana invented that to be close with Maru and convinced him to make her his girlfriend."
"But sadly, their relationship only lasted for a month," I added.
"Yes. That's why it all makes sense now that even though they already broke up, she suggested that Maru not tell everyone. In that way, she can still be close with Maru and hope that she can win his heart before Maru married you." Yelle said.
"But my best friend is too beautiful that's why no matter what that girl does to win Maru's heart, it does not affect him. The only downside was, that she was able to get your husband's sympathy. I always give him a hint, but your husband was too slow." I agree with Yelle about all the things that she said.
We made a plan because of Jana's plan. We want to let Jana do her plans and make her believe that Alex is on her side. From their supposed relationship up to their Tagaytay trip. However, the accident is not included in the plan. That's why I was angry with her when I saw her.
I was surprised when she continued their so-called plan with Alex. So my blood flow increased even more. My husband already met an accident, but she still wanted to continue with her plan. She has no conscience. That's why I also continued with our plan.
I let her believe that I let my husband go. James knew the plan. The intense argument is part of the plan. The only people who are not involved in the plan were our parents and Maru.
We put a CCTV in Maru's room so that we can monitor his condition. Yelle saw his hand move; Yelle already called me to proceed with our plan.
I was about to enter Maru's room when I heard him screaming.
"Who made this letter? Tell me who?!!!" Maru shouted at Jana.
That's my cue to enter the room.
"It's Jana!"
I saw his eyes widen when he saw me at the door.
"Wife!" He called me.
"Hi, there, husband," I said, then smirked.
I look at Jana's confused face.
"W-what... H-how..."
"Surprise!" Yelle and Alex entered the room.
"Y-you guys..." she pointed at them.
"W-what are you... why are you guys together?"
"Moral support!" Yelle said sarcastically.
I poke her.
"What?"
"Shut up!" I whispered.
I saw her pout.
"Care to tell me what the heck is happening?!!!" My husband growled.
"Maru..." Jana called him while crying.
"Explain!!!" Maru shouted.
"Maru, you need to calm down" Jana was about to touch my husband.
"Don't you dare touch my husband!" I warned her.
I went to Maru and held his hand.
I furrowed when I touch the paper that he is holding. I took the paper. Jana was about to snatch the paper when I move the paper away from her. I gave Alex and Yelle a signal to take Jana away from me. I open the paper.
"Don't you dare read that!!!" Jana shouted.
I ignored her and started to read my supposed letter to my husband. My eyes widen.
"What the heck?!"
"She told me that you gave that freaking paper to her." Maru hissed.
"I didn't even know that I wrote this. Also, will I even put an effort to print this?!"
The letter was computerized. Well, if Jana made it handwritten, Maru will quickly find out that this letter was not from me.
"I know, wife. That's why I am asking all of you what the heck is happening?!"
I hold his hand and caress his face.
"Calm down, hon. I'll explain it to you. But you need to calm down first. You just recover from that accident!" I scolded him.
Gradually he calmed down.
"I'm calm now, wife. Now explain!" He said while trying to calm himself.
"It's a long story, Maru; just listen to this." Yelle took out her phone and played the recorded conversation.
"Sorry?!!! Will my husband be healed by your sorry?!!!" I shouted.
"What are you going to do in Tagaytay, huh?!!! Tell me!!!!" I asked her angrily.
"I-I'm sorry, Mara, we didn't mean it." She said while trembling.
"What are you saying that you guys didn't mean, Jana?!!! Tell me!!!" I said, already hysterical.
"Andrew and I love each other. We were planning to go to Tagaytay to spend time alone." She said, almost whispered but clear enough for us to hear.
"What are you saying?!" I asked coldly.
"I can't keep it anymore, Mara. That's why I am asking for your forgiveness. Especially now, I almost lost him. I don't want to waste our time. I will fight for our love." She said, a bit determined.
"Are you crazy? What are you saying?" I asked her in annoyance.
"It's not true that we didn't love each other. Because even before and until now, we still love each other. If Tanya didn't come into your life, we were already planning to elope so that we can be together forever." She said while crying.
"Do you think I will believe you?" I told her.
"Isn't it enough proof to you that Maru and I went to Tagaytay? That place served as our sanctuary. That place is the witness of our love for each other." She went to me and kneeled.
"I'm begging you, Mara. Just let him go. We love each other. Please, Mara, please..." she pleaded while kneeling.
"What are you saying, Jana? My son loves Mara and not you! Don't try to ruin my son's family!" Maru's mom can't help but butt in.
"Auntie, I'm sorry. I can't take it anymore. I know that you don't like me for your son. But we love each other, auntie." She then faced me again, begging.
"Please, Mara, just let me and Maru love each other. Please let him go. I'm begging you." I look at her coldly.
"Okay. I am letting you guys go. I hope you two can be happy."

"No!!!!!" Jana's getting hysterical.
"How dare you, Jana!!!!" Maru shouted.
"Andrew.... l-let me e-explain...." she was about to go to Maru, but Alex stops her.
"I trusted you! I treated you as my sister! You know how much I love Mara!"
Jana cried so hard.
"Why, Jana? Why did you do this to us?! Why?!!!"
"A-Andrew... I love you! I love you so much! Since then until now."
I saw the shock on my husband's face. He didn't see that coming.
"I don't like Alex! Because I didn't know him! It's the only way for me to get close to you. To show you how much I love you!"
"You!!!" Maru pointed at her with rage.
I immediately took his hand to calm him down.
"I'm sorry, Andrew! I can't live my life without you! I love you so much! More than the love that your wife has for you!"
"Don't you dare compare my wife's love to you!" He growled.
"What does she have, and you are so crazy about her?! She did nothing but hurt you. She doesn't even look at you! If you guys didn't get married, she would never notice you! While me ... Andrew .... since then I am always by your side but why can't you see me?! Why can't you love me?!!"
I felt sorry for her. Maybe she did something wrong, but she did that because of her love for my husband. However, her love for him became unhealthy. Her love for him became an obsession.
I looked at Alex. Does he also feel the same as Jana? But unlike her, Alex chose to do what was right. And for that, it only proved that the love that Alex has for me is true. He was able to set me free because he knew that I would be happy with Maru. The girl who was destined for Alex will be fortunate to have him.
"I'm sorry, Jana. I'm sorry if you had such a hard time. I'm sorry if I did not reciprocate your love. I'm sorry if I can not love you the way you want me to."
"I love you, Jana but only as a friend or as a younger sister. Because in my heart, no one is allowed to enter but Mara."
"But I don't know if I can still accept you in my life after all you have done."
Jana's eyes widened and made her cry harder.
"You get out!" Maru said, trying to calm himself.
"A-Andrew..."
"I said get out!" Maru shouted.
"A-Andrew... I-I'm sorry... I am so s-sorry..."
She looked so lost as she went out of the room.
I immediately hugged my husband.
"Everything will be alright, hon."
