Chapter 32

"What the hell is happening, Alicia? Why is everyone upset?" I asked when I met him.
Even he had the obvious confusion on his face.
"P-Princess, your father is creating a huge mess inside the palace!" he simply answered before I passed.
I could also clearly see the palace guards coming out of nowhere. They all look bothered.
I will just return to the palace but this is how I will end up immediately.
I no longer hesitated to follow the guards wherever they were going.
What the hell pushed Mesaion to do these things again?
What did he do again?
I was shocked to see the guards fighting in front of my grandfather.
I knew it. There are some guards here who are on my father's side, he is really good at convincing.
My mother just killed herself because of him, because of his sins. But what is he doing now?
I quickly took the katana from the back to fight those who were attacking me as well.
I easily knocked them down because I still needed to protect my grandfather.
Even though there are many around him I can't be complacent.
"Mesaion!" I shouted angrily when I saw how he tried to chase my grandfather.
He turned to me with no expression on his face. "Stay out of this, Arrow. Don't interfere anymore!"
I ran between us to block my grandfather. I'll never let him harm Gunner this time. I will be the one to fight him.
"Stop all these shits that you're trying to make, Mesaion. Stop your mania for power!" I shouted.
"I said stay out of this!"
"Canapia died because of you! Aren't you still convicted of all you've done ?!" I growled angrily.
He did not answer me, instead he fought the guards on our side again.
I also shouldn't have looked at it from the side, so I still fought the guards I thought were on our side until the very end.
Whatever motivated them to betray, they should not succumb to that temptation.
While fighting I couldn't help but get bored because of the amount of traitors around me. There are more and more of them and I don't know where they are coming from.
My katana stopped in the air when I saw how Mesaion lifted the handgun above his head.
I almost let go of the weapon I was holding because of what he did.
"Mesaion!" I shouted.
I quickly ran between us so he could release the gun he was holding.
But before I could get close, someone grabbed my waist to stop me.
"F-Froze, no! Let me. He's going to kill himself!" I promised while begging looking at him.
He just looked coldly at my father who was looking directly at his grandfather.
"Arrow, he'll hurt you when you try to come close. So you're just here next to me," he insisted.
The more I looked around, the more I took a deep breath.
Mesaion raised his gun and point it to Gunner.
"No! Stop!" I shouted to stop a guard when he tried to stab my father.
It quickly lowered the weapon when it heard me.
My gaze shifted to my father and grandfather when I noticed their stare intently.
"If I'll die right here, you should die also, right?" my father's voice was bitter.

"Mesaion, stop doing this to yourself, put the gun down and talk--"
"Shut up papa! You know how tired I am to wait for that conversation!" Mesaion sighed to interrupt my grandfather from speaking.
And like what Canapia said, I chose to listen.
"I'm too tired to wait to get from you a normal conversation between the father and son. But I've been waiting for years, papa, why don't you still talk to me even for a moment ?!" I gasped when Mesaion started crying.
I know men rarely cry. And they only cry, if they're deeply hurt.
"Mesaion, that's right. Put down that freaking gun and let's talk," my grandfather replied.
"B-Why? Dad, what's wrong with what I did when I was a kid and why can't you talk to me ?! How many times have you promised me but you never asked me! I chose to follow everything that was said you because you feel you're always right! I'm following you even though I don't know if it's right for me! I just want to be the perfect son for you, but why can't you see it? I'm almost crazy thinking what else do I have to do to get your attention. You weren't there when those animals helped me. You weren't there when I almost died from the beating I received. You still don't have a paw and silence. became a gangster, but you're still unhappy with that. I've done all the fighting to get you to notice me but it's all pointless! " Mesaion said while pointing his gun at my grandpa.
"Believe me, s-son, I tried to understand you and-"
"You tried to understand me. But you never tried to listen. If you n-listened to me, I wouldn't be like this. I wouldn't be greedy for the power that I think is the solution for you to notice me. But you didn't say anything about my achievements, you never tried to have a connection and conversation with me, papa. And w-why? " he said, hopelessly.
I could clearly see how my grandfather would bow while his face was full of remorse.
"Gunner, y-you are a good leader of this country, a good man, a good person, a good grandfather for my daughter. But when did you ever become a good father?"
I sobbed in succession as I looked into my father's eyes.
All I can see now is a child, hiding inside a man's body, longing for his father's love.
"I understand, that you have been a good grandfather for my children. But I would have understood better, if you still played the role of your father to me even though you know I'm big. Even though you know I have a brain. More I would have understood, papa, I would have felt better that I am no different from you. That I am no different from this family. But you choose to be a different person every time you get close to me. " My eyes widened as he pointed the gun at the sensei again.
"S-Son--"
"A sorry is enough, right, papa?" my father smiled as his tears continued to flow.
"I'm s-sorry. I'm really sorry," Gunner said sincerely.
"No, daddy! No!" I shouted loudly as I tried to get rid of Froze.
Mesaion just looked at me. His eyes are full of regret. "I'm sorry, daughter. I hope you can still forgive your daddy despite everything."
"M-Mesaion ... No, don't do this-Ahh!"
Mesaion let out a sweet and final smile before I heard a gunshot.
