"Hey, don't make this hard for me. Tell me your plan. You've been dragging this for hours!" I scolded as I followed Kavin from behind.
"Alpha, I dragged it because if not, you will be going to try the plan and not solve the problems relating to our pack," he said, raising his hands in defeat.
"Fine, fine. Just tell me." I groaned.
"How did the conversation with prior Luna go?" he asked instead.
"Well... she believes whatever I decide is the right thing. But I think she doesn't approve of my choice of Everleigh. She's still thinking about the arranged mate thing. Also, I accidentally disrespected Moon Goddess in front of her. I pissed her off." I explained what had happened.
"Jeez, Grey. You've no patience," he said, shaking his head while laughing. "So, however, I plan to act as if you are over with your omega and get her over here as a new pack member. Or take her in as another person, not the person you love... I think you get it already. How does that sound?"
"That sounds good, but-"
"Don't worry. I will plant the seeds about this in prior alpha's and Luna's heads. The oldies get soft like butter when it comes to things like this," he said.
"Urgh, I've no idea. I can't think straight at a time like this. Moreover, I've to deal with the rogues who tried to attack the pack that day." I mumbled.
"Do you have any idea who the attackers might be?"
"I think I have an idea which gang it is. We'll go tomorrow morning to deal with them. I'll want around five with me, in case." I said.
"alright. I will prepare everything. Time?"
"Early, around 5 am,"
"Okay, alpha."
When Kavin was finally gone, I made my way to my room. And only when I was alone in the room did I realise I was staring too much at my phone.
'You expect her to contact you, don't you?' Blue lazily asked.
"Can't lie to you. But aren't you as well curious about how Sparkle might be doing?" I asked back aloud.
'All the time. I am worried, but I know she's strong, willing and would bear it until we go back. And same goes for Everleigh. She might look sensitive, but she's someone who can hold a lot more than we think. Remember when the two guys hit her and wounded her hands with the glasses? She suppressed everything.'
"Yep. You are right. Maybe I should stop worrying about her and quickly finish what I am here for. This whole thing will only take a maximum of two days. Then I can go fetch her..." I said, releasing a sigh.
'That's what I mean.'
Only two more days. Hold on for me.
After arriving at my pack, I had a better night while sleeping for the first time.
But still, in my dreams, I was in the familiar woods of the Blue Crystal Pack, where I sat every day to meet Everleigh. I was walking down the little path while looking at my surroundings.
I walked over to the large rock and pulled myself up to sit there. Staring at the moon and stars, I waited till Everleigh arrived. I could hear a very loud, constant ticking of a clock, and so I looked at my watch. It was ticking second after second. The time was exactly 10 pm.
And the more I stared at my watch, the faster it went. In the end, hours passed like seconds, and everything around me started changing as if years were passing. The woods dried, and the trees fell down. I could see the Blue Crystal Packhouse far from me, and the woods started invading the building.
The more I looked at my surroundings, the more they changed. And the building started becoming ruins. I got down from the rock and looked around in confusion. Then I remembered Everleigh was still there in the building. I made my way through the falling trees and the ruins. It took me so long to reach the building.
By the time I arrived at the building, it was totally ruined. I tried to run inside and search for her, but the dream's effects kept on delaying my steps. I yelled her name and called 'Everleigh' again and again, but the building kept on falling into tiny bits right in front of my eyes.
Suddenly my surroundings went dark, dark and darker than darkness. All I saw were her eyes watching me, waiting for me.
And I woke up panting heavily.
My heartbeat didn't slow down till a few minutes passed, till my mind realised it was just a dream. A pool of sweat surrounded me, and when I looked around, I saw a line of sunlight creeping through the windows.
It was morning.
A knock on the door got my attention.
"Yes?" I said aloud in my now hoarse voice.
The door opened, and Kavin poked his head in.
"You are still asleep? It's already 6 am. We've been waiting for one hour," he said, confused about why I was late and how on earth I slept through for an hour because I was never late.
"Shit." I cursed, quickly getting down from bed when I remembered what I had planned the night before.
Though my whole body was damped with sweat, I didn't have time to take a wash. So I waved my hand at Kavin, asking him to take his leave. When he was gone, I quickly changed my shirt. I couldn't believe I slept with all my clothes on. I was usually a shirtless or a naked sleeper.
Quickly brushing my teeth and sending my comb through my hair, I went out of the room. I didn't want to have breakfast because it might slow me down. So I straightaway went to the training grounds where the group was standing with a bored expressions on their faces.
"I am really sorry, I slept through one hour," I apologised as soon as they saw me. I might be their leader, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't apologise when I was wrong.
"It's alright, alpha," they said, nodding their heads in understanding.
"Okay, where do you think the 'Grim Reapers' might be staying?" I asked about the rogue pack who almost attacked us.
"We last spotted them by the lakeside to the north, but they were in a small den before. So we can assume they might be around the northern side," Adrian, a warrior who was one year older than me, said.
"Okay, either we come to a peaceful deal with them or rip off their throats. Are you ready?" I asked them.
"Yes, alpha," everyone said in unison.
