Chapter 27 The Letter

|Every|
I felt goosebumps all over my body. My body felt a hundred degrees hot as if I was in an oven being baked to death. I felt myself heating up more and more every second, and all those reactions were known with one single word called 'blushing'. It was something I'd never experienced before.
I quickly pulled the front part of my t-shirt so it won't stay there, sticking to my body. I saw alpha Grey trying to look everywhere but me.
'Pervert.' Sparkle said.
'I second that.' I said though memories went against my words. Shit. I could remember myself staring at his full glory not only once but twice-one time in the woods and the second when I accidentally went to his room.
'I didn't say we weren't perverts.' Spark joked.
'I don't like to be one. Please don't put a label.' I laughed in my mind.
And then I saw Grey slowly walking away. And it left me puzzled. It wasn't his way. He never left me without saying a word. But I realised why he had left when I heard another set of footsteps. And there stood some person I'd only seen around but didn't know his name. I slowly picked the bucket from the ground and made my way to the backyard.
I walked to the storage room and opened the large cupboard where we put all the garden items. I put the bucket inside and closed the door. But before going out of the storage room, I spared a small glance at the dirty ground of the storage room.
Unconsciously my eyes went to the spot where I had cried the night before, where I shed tears from my eyes like a waterfall. The same place where I got comfort from a person I never thought would give me... and the same place where I got my first kiss stolen, taken away.
But I couldn't call it stolen because it happened with my consent too. And it wasn't any secret that I loved my first kiss. I've always imagined having my first kiss in a cliche place, like near a lake under the moonlight.. or maybe on Christmas night among rose petals... But hey, I wasn't complaining about my first kiss. It was amazing. I just loved to imagine impossible scenarios, and there was no way someone would kiss me in those cliche places.
I walked over to the spot we sat the night before and sat there. It was really dirty, and it was a surprise that alpha Grey didn't mind sitting on them. Alphas were actually very egoist, and it was really humble of him not to mind the ground's state.
I stood up again and walked to the opposite cupboard, which had brooms, mops, and other cleaning items inside. And like that, I started cleaning the ground with my eyes locked on the same place where my heart was. It took me around half an hour to clean the floor.
Then I started tidying the room while moving some old items like small lamps, sheets, and other things which were too old to use. I took the small stool, which was right next to the place I was yesterday, but before I could keep it aside, I saw a small piece of paper on the ground, which was probably under one foot of the stool before.

I dropped the stool and took the paper into my hands. I thought it was just a random paper, but it didn't take me long to see that it was some kind of letter. I opened it as my eyes scanned the cursive writing. Whoever wrote it had a good style of writing letters.
It started;

'Troublemaker from the woods; I don't know if you will see this. If you see, come to our usual place (where the two rocks are) after you are done with work. Probably late-night. I want to talk with you soon.'

And that was all the letter said. It didn't say who wrote it and to whom. But it was obvious as the sun rising from the east that the letter was by alpha Grey to me.
'Is it a trap?' Sparkle asked.
'It doesn't matter. We can sneak into the woods and see it with our own eyes.' I told her with determination in my voice.
I felt Sparkle leap inside me.
Though we both were hiding what our hearts wanted, we both knew it was the same. We had a thing for Grey, but we were both scared to accept it at the same time.
'Seriously, Spark. You have guided me all these years though you are the most stubborn living being I've ever met. Did you really think over what we are doing now?' I asked.
'What are we doing again?' she asked back.
'It's about Grey... what if our mate shows up-'
She cut my words short; 'We both know the chances are low. Even though Fah said this is wrong, I don't find any reason why we shouldn't at least try falling in love. There's only one week to go. Are you ready, or are you going to cower back? Now or never.' she sounded impatient.
'I won't try to sneak into the woods if I don't want to take the risk now, do I?' I teased her.
'No, shit. Great.' She cheered.
We spent the whole day doing our chores as usual. But I was feeling restless the entire time. I avoided everyone as much as possible, especially Fah, because I knew that I wouldn't be able to look at her while I was planning things behind my back. Even though she was someone whom I treasured a lot, I didn't want to tell her anything about meeting Grey during the night. Especially after her warnings.
Once my duty was over, I sneaked out of the packhouse successfully after the small light soup for dinner.
"Where are you going?" came Fah's voice, the same person whom I successfully avoided the whole day. I acted as if she was wrong and pointed around, and I wanted to say I was just looking around. I even pointed at the moon.
"Seriously, Everleigh. You can't fool me," she said, using my full name with her hands folded on her chest.
I slowly looked down at my feet.
"Pack members are on duty, patrolling in the woods; there have been these so-called rogue attacks. Woods aren't safe during the night, especially. And the night is not safe in this packhouse either." she ranted on. "And you are going to meet 'him' stubbornly like this. What do I do with you, huh?" she sharply asked.
I shook my head. Maybe it was a bad idea from the start. I was still stuck in my pack, and I was dreaming about having a relationship with the most powerful alpha... How dumb was I again?
"You should've asked me for help, stupid arse. Follow me. I will take you inside unseen," she said.
Huh?
I looked at her in confusion. But she was already walking into the woods. I quickly followed her from behind.
